Overview

ViaPath is seeking an Intelligence and Digital Forensics Lab Supervisor to join our National Cellular Forensic Lab (NCFL) branch in Columbia, SC. The position will be based at the customer site. The responsibility of the Lab Supervisor will be to provide direct support to lab personnel and customer staff, through the employee management, oversight, and general forensic work associated with the ViaPath NCFL. While in this critical position, you will have the opportunity to utilize your training and experience to manage a team tasked with forensically extracting data from legally seized cellular devices, analyzing said data, and assisting investigative staff in the development of actionable intelligence within the facilities and outside law enforcement. The selected candidate will be team oriented, capable of multitasking, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This position will be located at our client's offices in Columbia, SC.

Responsibilities
    Provide direct management of laboratory personnel associated with evidence management, forensic data extraction, and data analysis
  • Demonstrate understanding, management and performance of data extraction and data analysis
  • Perform management tasks to include hiring and training new staff, coaching employees, performing annual performance reviews, etc.
  • Demonstrate fundamental understanding of, and successfully implement and oversee, departmental and corporate policies, and/or industry best practices surrounding the intake, handling, and disposal of electronic evidence
  • Obtain and retain forensic certifications and forensic extraction techniques and best practices
  • Analyze data to establish trends within the facility and potential areas of interest
  • Assist facility with investigations by utilizing specialized software provided for data mining and link analysis
  • Demonstrate fundamental understanding of investigative and intelligence processes to include the intelligence cycle
  • Submit and/or approve detailed reports to facility regarding forensic and intelligence findings
  • Submit regular reports to superiors outlining level of support and benefit to facility
  • Provide guidance and training to facility and laboratory staff
  • Participation in court or other administrative related hearings
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher is required. A concentration in Criminal Justice or an Intelligence-related field is preferred
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in police, military and/or corrections services with extensive investigative experience is required
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in supervising staff and performing management roles and responsibilities is required
  • Ability to develop a fundamental understanding of intelligence processes in a correctional environment to include institutional operations and criminal procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prepared to testify in court or other administrative related hearings as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to learn ViaPath and third-party software applications within the first six months of hire
  • Successfully complete the Cellebrite Commanders Course after hire
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an interest and ability to conduct analysis and report on findings
