Job Description

About the Role:

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will work on a variety of aspects of product design across all value streams, including compliance, analysis, and validation. Activities include, but are not limited to, development of engineering standards, research of new technology, vendor engagement, conducting business case project analysis, modeling solution development, presentation creation, and delivering project innovation. This position serves as the engineering liaison or point person for distribution center current projects, operations excellence, future innovation, and road maps in retail and wholesale channels.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering teams to translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed design
  • Assure products are launched on schedule, at required levels of quality, at cost and meeting internal and customer performance requirements
  • Define Value Engineering (VE) goals, project definition, resource needs and execution within the control and Safety Management Systems
  • Partner with Product Managers to utilize market intelligence and voice of customer to prioritize a roadmap that balances ongoing improvements with new feature developments
  • Provide lean engineering expertise to operations processes, and facilitate improvement events to drive the mechanization and automation of manual operations with an end goal of reducing touches and improving operational efficiencies in all business processes where applicable
  • Ensure product meets all applicable regulatory requirements through new design and the identification and creation of necessary design standards and standard work for engineering organizations
  • Ensure alignment of departmental goals and initiatives to overall value stream strategic plans
  • Other duties as assigned

Let's Talk About Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required
  • 3-5 years of experience leading and developing a team of direct reports in an engineering environment
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; transportation equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices including budgeting, cost estimating, and ROI analysis
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks, SAP, and PLM
  • Understanding of finite element analysis
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
