Located 30 miles north of downtown Dallas, Omni PGA Frisco Resort is the largest resort currently in development in the country. Opening spring 2023, the resort will feature 500 guest rooms and suites, 10 four-bedroom ranch houses, three pools, including an adults-only rooftop infinity pool, a destination spa, Lounge by Top Golf, and over 127,000-square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. An expansive retail and entertainment district will feature dining, shopping and an outdoor stage set to be activated for concerts and outdoor programming. The Resort will become a leading destination for golf providing an unparalleled experience for those who are advanced players, new to the game, and everything in between. The resort will offer 46 holes of golf designed by Beau Welling and Gil Hanse, including two 18-hole championship golf courses, a lighted 10-hole short course, and a lighted two-acre putting green.

Job Description

Omni PGA Frisco Resort is now hiring a Director of Banquets for our 127,000 square feet of meeting and event space; and our extensive range of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting, event and naturally lit pre-function spaces. Our indoor spaces feature custom-designed carpets and light fixtures inspired by golf and the local landscape, while our outdoor spaces are separated from each other to create private events, with all those spaces showcasing spectacular golf views. Whether it's an elegant celebration in our 22,000 square-foot grand ballroom or a more intimate event in the 5,000 square-foot pavilion with a seamlessly integrated adjoining patio and event lawn, our conference and catering team attends to every detail with expert care and personalized service.

The Director of Banquets is responsible for ensuring proper set up and service of all banquet functions, supervising all banquet associates to ensure guest satisfaction, and maintain service standards. This is a leadership role responsible for training of associates to deliver prompt, courteous service in a manner that complies with Omni food and beverage standards and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
    Represents management at functions.
  • Determines set-ups in conjunction with Catering team.
  • Coordinates functions with service staff, Culinary team and Stewarding team. Sees that guest satisfaction is achieved through effective supervision and delegation of functions, checks on food quality and courteous performance of entire banquet staff.
  • Coordinates with the Stewarding Department on fast recovery of food leftover and minimizes waste.
  • Briefs waiters on functions and procedure of service.
  • Establishes high standards of quality service and maintains them through effective training and continuous upgrading.
  • Maintains the equipment entrusted to his care and keeps pars up.
  • Maintains records, reports, closing reports and payroll costs.
  • Inspects function rooms and writes work orders for the Engineering Department to maintain rooms in excellent condition.
  • Conscious of business fluctuations, reacts either increasing of decreasing when volume of business fluctuates up or down.
  • Maximizes profits in his department through effective management techniques keeping in mind at all times guest satisfaction.
  • Must stay updated on new food and wine trends. Sets the pace and a good example for a successful quality operation.
  • Prepare for and conduct departmental meetings.
  • Use Synergy and Epitome Reports to effectively relay guest concerns to other departments.
Qualifications
  • 8 plus years of previous Banquet experience is desirable in large scale resort/hotel setting
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts including holidays and weekends
  • Appropriate, professional appearance and presentation
  • Exceptional people skills required
  • Execute brilliantly all aspects of functions
  • Must be detail oriented, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform professionally under high levels of stress
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Must have unexpired Food Handlers and TABC - or obtain upon hire.
