Position Description:

The University of Iowa School of Social Work invites applications for a 50%-time Visiting Instructor position to teach in the MSW program at the Sioux City campus.



The teaching assignment in 2024-25 will include: Clinical I (Assessment), the Clinical Practicum Seminar online for fall and spring, either Clinical II or Clinical III, as well as arranging specialized placements for Sioux City MSW students and advising and mentoring these students. The half-time salary is $32,340 plus benefits. The position is renewable for an additional year.

Education Requirement:

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program in hand by start date.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated record of at least 3 years, full-time, post-MSW practice.

  • Demonstrated evidence of potential for graduate level teaching.

  • Must be willing to teach in-person in Sioux City as well as online.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience teaching graduate level social work courses.

  • Knowledge of Sioux City area social service and nonprofit agencies.
