Overview

Provides overall management of assigned areas and supports the overall mission of the Behavioral Health Services Department. Responsibilities include Powell Chemical Dependency Cente. Ensures high quality, efficient and affordable comprehensive services for patients, families and the community. Oversees the Powell CDC Alumni and Friends Association. Educates the organization and community to understand addictions and recovery. Accountable for the program's fiscal performance.

Responsibilities

Employee Development

* Engages and motivates staff and providers to achieve a Patient Experience to exceed customer expectations.

* Determines adequate staffing resources needed for service delivery.

* Ensures clinical oversight of staff providing care to patients.

* Identifies and promotes professional and educational opportunities.

* Performs human resources functions.


Performance Improvement

* Identifies performance improvement opportunities.

* Measures and meets quality goals and expectations.

* Creates teams that develop effective improvement plans.

* Leads staff proactively through change.

* Ensures services provided meet community needs.

* Maintains program's State of Iowa licensure.


Budget Management

* Develops, implements, and achieves or exceeds annual operating and capital budgets.

* Completes business plans for new programs or staffing.

* Plans strategies to achieve sustainable results.

* Understands the revenue cycle and supports processes to improve it.


Qualifications

Education: Master's degree or commitment to complete a Master's degree within 3 years. Master's degree in a behavioral or administration field.


Experience: 1 year of supervisory experience. 3 years in a behavioral health field with increasing levels of accountability, Case Management, Managed Care, & Chemical Dependency.


License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Iowa Board of Certification-Substance Abuse certification. Independent licensure as a mental health clinician in the State of Iowa.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Effective use of ASAM PPC-2R. Knowledge of State of Iowa substance abuse licensure standards. Word processing, spreadsheet, email and web browser. Utilization Management, Principles of Case Management, Performance Improvement, Care Coordination.


Other: Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
