As a Retirement Plan Counselor, you will be responsible for delivering on-site education and enrollment presentations to new and existing defined contribution 401(k) clients. You will leverage Empower's industry leading technology and tools to drive results and help employees as they strive for a successful retirement. This position will also assist the Client Management team in effectively establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within the assigned territory.

Candidate must reside in Iowa, preferably Des Moines.

What you will do

  • Develop and facilitate communication and education strategies by conducting group meetings (with the possibility of some one-on-ones) in person, via the web, and/or through recorded presentations
  • Offer consultative expertise to employees to increase participation and enrollment
  • Manage meeting assignment schedules, including travel booking
  • Regularly report meeting information and enter details into proprietary reporting systems
  • Provide feedback to Client Management about what communication materials/strategies are working or not working within a plan and assist in identifying alternatives

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and fractions
  • Presentation skills (to groups and individuals) required
  • FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 registrations required within established timeframes
  • FINRA fingerprinting required

What will set you apart

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of Empower products, the defined contribution business, and ERISA
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred

Base Salary Range

$54,500.00 - $76,925.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
