Job Description

HK Solutions Group is looking for a Payroll Coordinator, to join our team in Des Moines, IA. This position reports to the Payroll and Benefits Manager and provides support to the Human Resources team. The Payroll Coordinator position is an on-site role at our Des Moines office, but flexibility is offered to work from home occasionally.

Job Functions

  • Process biweekly payroll via ADP (multi-state, 225+ employees)
  • Daily payroll reports
  • Verify and audit timesheets to ensure compliance and accurate records
  • Temporary labor timecards and invoicing
  • Prevailing wage reports
  • Transfer information from payroll software (ADP) to billing software (Accumatica)
  • Enter Accumatica coding for holidays
  • Wage allocation reports
  • Monthly vendor reports
  • Reconciliation of monthly insurance billing
  • Assist with new hire onboarding
  • Review payroll deductions including benefits and garnishments
  • Collaborate with Human Resources & Benefits on leave administration including Work Comp and FMLA
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service to employees who have questions regarding their pay, deductions, paid leave balances and other payroll processes
  • Help maintain internal control processes and policies in relation to payroll processing
  • Develop and maintain payroll spreadsheets and reports
  • Assist with answering incoming phone calls and directing to appropriate personnel
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least two years experience in a Payroll position
  • Computer skills, including proficiency using Microsoft office suite
  • Experience with ADP is preferred, but not required
