Stanley Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical or Chemical Engineer to work with our Denver, CO on a full time or reduced time role for upcoming work. In this position, you will work as a fuel gas piping or process design specialist on a variety of Energy, Federal, and Infrastructure projects. The successful candidate must have a good understanding of design of Hydrogen and natural gas piping systems, process piping systems, above and below grade piping installations, pipe stress, piping specifications, code requirements, welding requirements, and protective coating requirements.

The person in this role will have technical design responsibilities and must coordinate work with the design team and review and manage their work to produce high quality project documents. This individual will be expected to perform design duties with minimal supervision and have ability to communicate within a team environment.

Specific duties will include:

  • Design and layout of H2 (hydrogen) and natural gas piping systems, including safety and detection considerations and venting
  • Design and layout of process piping systems including hydraulics and heat and material balances
  • Computer modeling/analysis of piping systems
  • Utility system design
    • Compressor systems
    • Heat exchange systems
    • Pumping systems
  • Understanding of metallurgy, H2 embrittlement, and hydrogen dehydration considerations depending upon storage locations
  • Understanding of the electrolysis process
  • Equipment specification and procurement
  • Technical support experience of start-up and commissioning of H2, fuel gas, and/or process piping systems

Required education, skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University.
  • 8-15 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineering registration.
  • Fuel gas (H2 and natural gas) and process piping design experience.
  • Pipe flow and stress modeling.
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required

Base Compensation: $117,900 - $158,200
