Andersen Corporation is seeking an Engineer II at our Dubuque, IA location.
 
PURPOSE: This position is responsible to support the E-Series division at Andersen. Join a team that innovates, develops, and executes product design initiatives within RD&I Ongoing Product Development.  You will be integral in creating industry-leading high-performing durable product solutions.  You will be involved in every aspect of the product design life cycle, from the front end of business development through product end of life.
 
The individual in this role is expected to bring expert mechanical engineering knowledge and best practices to the development and improvement of products that meet or exceed our customer’s expectations for function, performance, and durability.  The individual in this role is expected to work in a highly collaborative cross-functional environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Developing innovative customer-focused design concepts and solutions
  • Delivering mechanical designs, developed using engineering principles, in a variety of material technologies including wood, glass, metals, plastics, and composites
  • Technical Documentation
  • Technical Presentations
  • Engineering Change Orders
  • Product Quality Improvements
  • Cost Reduction Initiatives
  • Production Support
  • Certification Support
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
  • 5+ years of related mechanical design experience
  • Experienced with 3D CAD modeling package
  • Demonstrated use of FEA
  • Demonstrated use of dimensional tolerance analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to design experimentation, analyze results and draw conclusions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Quick learner with high level of ambition and drive
  • Strong people skills, able to work in a highly collaborative team environment

PROFIT SHARING:
During 2022, each eligible Andersen employee will receive $1,000 for each full fiscal quarter they are actively employed and fully vaccinated against COVID-19. An eligible employee hired during a quarter will receive a prorated payment based on the number of days employed during the quarter. Those eligible include fully-vaccinated regular full-time and part-time employees (at least 20 hours per week) who are not subject to a collective bargaining agreement. These and other terms and conditions of Andersen’s 2022 Profit Sharing Plan, including the definition of full vaccination against COVID-19, are subject to change or termination without notice.
