We are offering an internship within our Core Infrastructure group next summer for our program that will run from June 6th to August 12th in 2022 in our Chicagoland, Madison, WI or Knoxville, TN locations. This internship is part of our Infrastructure and Automation Services group. Below are the brief details of this 10-week opportunity.
Infrastructure and Automation Services
The Infrastructure and Automation Team at UScellular is seeking a summer intern for their Chicagoland, Madison, WI or Knoxville, TN locations. This team is responsible for the automation tools infrastructure and providing standards for the automation of tasks, orchestration of processes, and development of tooling which will reduce time to value and increase velocity of Enterprise Infrastructure and Security teams. The intern for this role will work with the team on projects to create, deploy and maintain automation utilizing tools like Ansible, Terraform, and CloudBolt. He or she will get experience developing automation and creation of dashboards or other reporting systems.

Requirements
Working toward a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management or Business Administration or related technical field
Experience with standard MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Strong analytical skills coupled with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required
Knowledge of technology structures: networks, databases, communications systems and Internet
Ability to participate and work well in cross-functional teams
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Previous internship(s) in Computer Science, Information Management or Business Administration or related technical field training / experience highly preferred.
Coursework involving Application Code Development and/or basic Business curriculum.
Knowledge and/or understanding of automation technologies like Red Hat Ansible Tower and HashiCorp Terraform.
DevSecOps and Agile practices and CI tools such as Jira, GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, AWS preferred
Exposure to software development in areas of Agile and DevOps
Container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
Basic understanding of SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle) is helpful
Familiarity with enterprise architecture and/or infrastructure architecture (Security, DevSecOps, Platform, Virtualization, and Storage) best practices, frameworks, etc.
Location Requirements
This internship will be offered in our Chicagoland, Madison, WI, or Knoxville, TN locations.
No housing or living expenses provided with this internship.
