5 Healthy Snacks to Take to Work
Share
The food that you eat during the workday can have a significant impact on how you feel and how effectively you are able to perform. It’s definitely important to take a lunch break, and there are plenty of great ideas for healthy lunches you can take to work that can keep you from having to eat in restaurants too often. It’s also a good idea, though, to keep some healthy snacks on hand – either in your desk or in your office refrigerator. That way, you’ll always have access to a quick pick-me-up, and you won’t be as likely to give in to the temptation of the snack machine!

5 Healthy Workplace Snack Ideas

Vegetable Crisps — If you’re one who likes chip-type snacks, consider trying the Vegetable Crisps from Good Natured Selects. They are salty and crunchy and come in two flavors (Ranch and Original), and they are made with health-conscious consumers in mind. Each individual serving bag has half of a serving of vegetables and they are made without any artificial ingredients. They are free from saturated fat and gluten. You can eat them right out of the bag, or dip them. I really like the Original variety with hummus.

Hummus — Speaking of hummus, the Sabra individual serving size hummus containers make perfect workplace snacks. They are the perfect size for a snack or to enjoy with raw veggies or to pair with your favorite healthful chips or crisps, and they provide a super-simple way to boost your protein intake during the workday. They are also great to keep on-hand for those days that you bring wrap sandwiches to lunch. Adding hummus to a wrap boosts the flavor and helps keep you full longer!

Yogurt — Yogurt can be a great snack to keep in the refrigerator at work, but it’s important to be mindful that not all yogurts are the same. Some varieties have much more sugar than others, so it’s important to choose wisely. The new Yoplait Plenti yogurt is a great option to consider. It has 12 grams of sugar and 12 grams of protein per serving, so you get a balance of both sugar and protein. Additionally, it has add-ins like flax seeds, pumpkin seeds and whole grain oats that boost flavor and make it more filling than many other yogurt options.Nates Mediterranean Bites

Falafel bites — If your workplace refrigerator has a freezer, consider taking a bag of Nate’s Mediterranean Bites to the office for snacking. These tasty low-sugar, protein- and fiber-rich frozen snacks can be thawed and eaten directly from the bag or heated in the microwave oven in your company’s employee break room. They come in three different flavors (Kale, Southwestern and Garlic & Pesto) and taste terrific! They are gluten-free and made with all non-GMO ingredients.

Nuts — Nuts are another great protein-packed snack option. I always keep nuts in my pantry and desk drawer, and I take along individual serving packs of nuts when I travel for business. Planters NUT-rition mixes are a great option for those who like mixed nuts. My two favorites are the Heart Healthy Mix and the Omega-3 Mix. I also love macadamia nuts and almonds, which are the two lowest carb count nuts.
